Journal Journey's Ch 21

Hello everyone, we have had some more NEW faces this month (which we LOVE) and I have really enjoyed looking at your pages & talent. I never get board of  Art Journaling. BIG apology now, I am SO SORRY I haven't played along this month. I know, I had another bad fall so have been sat on the sofa crocheting with my feet up. I Couldn't face the table & chair and effort involved with just sitting let alone stretching. I am SO grateful for our lovely GDT member I am feeling much better now though so maybe I will join you through out this month :) Which brings me nicely on to this months challenge.

This months challenge is .....

HATS

The lovely Birgit is our wonderful GDT Member this month a special thank you to her as she was busy and fit us in specially and I know I am so glad she did. Birgit has this say about her self & art work. " I Like to play with different materials. Rubber stamps, paints, pencils, paste, magazine images, different papers and so on. Therefore art journaling is best. I'm not an artist; I'm a hobbyist and do it just for fun. Sometimes more... sometimes less. "  I love Birgits work, such colour and doodling on the hats is fab.

I hope you can find time to join in this month again. The winner of the GD spot for the month of August is Jeanette I hope you will honour us all with a special appearance. Please e-mail me So I can give you next months details.

Just a little though here, have you any suggestions for over the Winter for Challenges you would like to do? I want some fresh ideas for the Autumn, Halloween & Christmas. I know I can think of lots, but if there is anything you would fancy having a go at in particular leave me a comment. Have a wonderful month Dxx

Journal Journey's Ch20

We have had some glorious weather in May we actually had some sunny weather on a Bank Holiday in the UK and we Brits know how rare that is lol. Looks like we have some more followers (Fabulous to see you) and we have had lots of people joining in again. Hooray! We have lots to get through so lets push on to this months Challenge.

This month's challenge is....

NUMBERS

You may recall that last month I started choosing, (with random generator)  a special monthly Guest Design Team (GDT) member. It's really easy to do, just join in each month and one person randomly will be picked out to design for the next month. You can send your photos to my email add and a couple of sentences as to why you like to craft. The idea is along the way we all get a turn at being a GDT member & find out a little more about each other.

Susi Our very first GDT said "For me Art Journaling is the best way to relax, to try out new techniques and to be messy with colours, stamps and glue. I have to create to stay healthy and happy." Thank you Susi I totally agree with you. And a big thank you for being our very first GDT member.

I wish I had a button I could give out. Does anyone know how to make one? If you can and you would like to make one for us that would be super :) Just e-mail me with the details thank you.

Last months winner of GDT was Susi. And hasn't she done a fantastic job? Thank you Susi.

This months winner is..... No. 15 That's Bridgit
Please contact me via e-mail for next months Challenge details :)

Here are my pages to help inspire along with Susi's. So remember 'NUMBERS' is the theme, have fun with it this month and please pop your link to the post of your entry in the linky below. Dxx

Journal Journey's Ch18

Hello everyone and welcome. Wow, another month gone. I believe some struggled with last months challenge? But you still joined in and created some fantastic spreads. Be proud that you faced up to the challenge and won! :) This month is not nearly so difficult. I am enjoying that the clocks have gone forward and so the days are longer!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed the long Bank Holiday in the UK. The weather is very cold still, but at least the sun is out and the sky is blue instead of grey. Lets get on with this months challenge shall we? Yes that's why we're here to join in a challenge and express this in our art journals. This month I would really like to see:-

QUOTES!

So what are your favourite quotes? I want to see them in your art journals. They are to be the main focus. No matter the type, maybe a religious one or something some one famous has said. Something from a poem or book. Why not a great quote from your favourite film. This is your chance to quote away and you can do this as many times as you like as always I want you to have fun and play in your journals. Here is my example to kick start you off.

And I have just noticed I missed a letter out Oops! oh well none of us are perfect and I now what it is supposed to say lol Please join in have some fun, leave your link at the bottom and spread the word. Love Dawn xx

Journal challenge 17

February is gone YAY now it's March and the nights are getting lighter the days are longer and this is a good thing, because it means Spring and Summer will soon be here. (saying that we have had snow in March before now) Lets hope not, I have had enough with the cold.

You may have seen I kept a promise to my self to journal more (happy place) In fact I have been doing a lot more inky, painty stuff of late and it's such fun! I hope you're in the mood for this months challenge, because I thought long and hard about this..............

ANIMALS
MINIMUM OF TWO DIFFERENT KINDS.

Whatcha think? I got five on my pages. Could even put more on as I still think I want to add to it a wee bit more. So here is my inspiration for you.

I started with sprays & stencils followed by lots of stamping and then some freebie and bought images. The bird is free from graphic fairy (in side bar) And the others I think (not sure) are from Artyfacts off esty. This is in my thankful journal which is A5 it's almost full now. What are you using as a journal? Have fun and don't forget as long as the animals are the focus of your page/pages there are no rules play to your hearts content and of course, please share your creations in the linky below. Love Dawn xx

Journal Journey's Ch 16

Hello all, so you made it through January, well done. It's such a long month isn't it. I hope your drying off from all the horrid weather we've had in the UK & abroad  I hope you are all safe and feeling warmer. I would like to say thankyou for everyone making a special effort joining us here at our monthly Journal Journey's challenge in January :) I also want to do more art journaling this year as well as the many other crafty hobbies I have.

So what do I have planned for this month? Well, blog land really inspires me and that's what has got me thinking about this month's challenge. Every year I see many people in blog land (some of my friends included) chose a word for the year, I have noticed this trend a lot in blog land and I'ts something I have long thought about doing, and this year I have decided it was the right time for me. Here's what I would like you to do....

Choose A Word

Now I don't want you to necessarily choose a word for the year (although you can if you so choose to). However, you can also have a favourite word? However you decide to interpret this I would like one word to be the focus of your page. so there is lots of leigh-way here and I know you won't let me down. So go to it. Here is my word for the year I hope it gets you started :0)

I started off with scraps of paper, then added some distress inks and some water to blend the papers together, followed by some stamping. I went on a free site for fonts Da Font and printed the word joy out on some card and then put the DI on a matt and sprayed water top of the ink and dipped the card in the various colours until all the letters were covered in ink, I allowed them to dry and then stamped some more over the ink, I also stamped some dragon fly's on some pretty scrap paper and cut them out to add to the spread, all very simple techniques but I think they look really effective, so have fun and share your work  in the linky below and we can stop by and see what you have been up to :0) Dxx

Journal Journey challenge 15

Happy New year. I hope you had a joyous & safe Christmas last year, wow last year :0) I'm sure you got some lovely gifts and had some fun sharing with family. Food is my favourite part of Christmas and I love LOVE cooking this special cerebrationary dinner and feeding the family.

I do hope you will want to have fun again this year with your art journals. I have been finding getting stuck into my journal hard work. However, once I get there it doesn't loose it's fun appeal for me. I really enjoy playing with paint, inks and what ever else I can grab. This months challenge was no exception and I hope you will have fun as well.

NEW

Is the word I would like you to focus on for January as it's New Year. Many look at this time to start a new regimen and make promises to them selves to start a fresh. I really want you to create what YOU feel new means to you in January. I personally don't really go for all this new year resolutions. I do like to make some short term and long term goals for the year though. Any way it's entirely up to you, I hope you can make time this month to join in, and here is some inspiration from me to help you kick start your pages.

I decided to add lots of colour using ink spray & do some ghosting and also cut out some book pages and paint them as well, I have had the letter stickers for ever so thought I would try and use them. I out lined  the letters to give them dimension and then add lots of sentiments that may well be new this year to me. Some are certainties like new fabric & yarn  :0) others are wishes like a new home or a new business. You get the idea, so go and have fun journaling with the word NEW and come back and share with us as always what you create. Love Dawn xx

Journal Journey's Challenge 14

December! Yes it's December they say as you get older time speeds up. Well it's going at warp speed already. It doesn't seem that long ago since last Christmas but it's almost here again. Are you ready? Well I am almost there, I am pleased about that just just a couple of gifts to buy and then the wrapping up as usual then there is just food to organise and I'm done. We only have a small Christmas now, the boys are all grown up & will be round for Christmas Dinner and then I get a week with my grandson in the Christmas break usually, so always something to look forward to ;0)  December, Christmas, Holiday season what ever you call it, to me is about family children in particular and that's your challenge for December.

CHILDREN

So anything to do with children it doesn't have to be Christmas orientated they just have to be the main focus of your art journaling this month. So let your imagination wonder, there is no limit to the mediums you can use or stamping, photographs, paint, inks. What ever you want to play with or have at hand, create something with children as the main focus. I hope you have fun in December don't get too flustered it's only one day so my tip is not to spend the earth on gifts, it's more about spending quality time with one another.

I hope you can find time to join in the challenge this December. The children are free images from the wonderful Land of Nod Debs is a generous artist and gives away images every friday. Have a wonderful Christmas, keep safe and have fun when you can. If Christmas is a difficult time I hope you will feel loved by us here at the Journal Journey's challenge. Peace, health & happiness wishes to you and yours. Love Dawn xx

Journal Journeys Challenge 12

Oh My it's the twelfth challenge, that means twelve glorious months of art journaling together. I have to say a BIG thank you to everyone who have continued to make this fun by joining in & supporting one another. So we have to celebrate don't we? Sure we do ;0) I will share a photo of the prize at the beginning of October as well as the winners name. All those that enter my monthly challenge this month will have an entry for each  additional time they have entered previous months challenges. So the more times you have entered over the last twelve months the more chance you have of winning. That's all you have to do to win the yummy candy I have planned. Old & new are all welcome, wherever you live xx

So I thought as a very appropriate title for this special month I would like you all to use a word in your journaling this month and do your page/spread based on that word. The word is: -

FRIENDSHIP

I am particularly fond of all of you, the friends I have made, through my blogging and the love and care you all show to me and each other, your support means so very much and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Here is my spread, I hope it inspires xx

This last twelve months have been a joy. I hope to continue to do these art journal challenges and I will as long as there are people who will join in with me. So lets see what friendship means to you in your journal I, as always look forward to seeing what you come up with. Don't forget to add your post to the linky not the whole blog so we can all find your inspiring pages. Love Dawn xx

Journal Journey's Challenge 11

Oh I'm late, so sorry but life gets the better of us all sometimes so I hope your in a forgiving mood ;0) Any way, blimey it's August. I had started something with the theme of games for this month, it being the Olympics but I just didn't get it finished. Well, I have been glued to the TV it's been so good to watch, what with the opening ceremony and the feast of sports it's magic. I have also been baking lots, muffins cakes and stuff and this gave me an idea for this months challenge. I did manage to do some beautiful pages that I would like to share with you, and this month I would like you to use a recipe ;0)

Photograph (digi image, of a person/s),  Stamps, DPs & Glossy Accents

I hope you like this idea, so get all those beautiful Images you have of a person/s child etc Photograph, Digi or otherwise (but not stamped) all your fave Stamps, I mean anything but a person/s  I am sure you have loads of beautiful Design Papers (DPs)  don't we all? So this is a good opportunity to use some in your journal and lots of Glossy Accents to highlight your fave bits or however you want to use it (it must be visible not just used as a glue) So what will be in your journals this month? I am excided to see what you come up with ;0) here some ideas from me.

So get to it. There's lots of space for you to create whatever you like here. I see there are two more followers this month so welcome. And a big thank you as always to the people who share their creations with us all each month. So add to the linky at the bottom of the page, I am sure we would all love to see more of you join in if you can. Love Dawn xx

Journal Journey's Challenge 10

July is here already? It's my Birthday month and I had to play with my fave muse and this is the title of this months Journal Challenge

PARIS

It's my fave place to go for sure (in my head in magazines, books on TV). And one day I will be able to go. It's only across the channel I know, but I will have to wait until the time is right ;0) So I would like you to dream with me this month and visit the City of love.

There are so many things about Paris to journal about, and I hope you will play with it, the list is endless, the architecture the macaroons, pastry's, cafes and markets, museums, historical figures it's all there as it is nowhere else. So have fun be creative and make Paris your focal point in this months journal challenge. Love Dawn xx

Please add your post to the linky then I, as well as any one else can visit you work ;0)
